Our last day on the beach...after a storm last night, the weather was cooled down. In fact it went from over 90 to 70. The only problem was that it was quite windy. We got ready to go spend the last morning on the beach. Addie, you were being a crab! You didn't want to go down to the beach, just go home. We had to threaten leaving you by yourself in the condo! Finally, we all made it out the door with the hopes of flying your kite! We got down to the very windy beach and put up the tent which thankfully blocked most of the wind. We built the biggest sand castle village of the week! You and I ended up having a very fun morning on the beach. It was amazing how much your attitude changed in just 15 minutes! John, you sat on your chair and played with the shovels and the sand. i hope next beach vacation you sill explore the beach a bit...but then Addie didn't venture too far off the blanket at Myrtle Beach when she was your age either. When it just got to windy and even cold in the beach, we went up to the pool for a little while. Addie, you showed off your new found swimming skills (with your green frog puddle jumpers) and jumping/diving into the water. You got to even jumping in without much from me, I still caught you but moved back further and further with each passing day. We will have to make several pool play dates in the coming weeks at home with some of your friends.
Because it was so cool, we decided to go play putt putt! We went in search of lost treasure on the gold course. We even got to ride a train up to the first hole! You both were free as long as you played with the plastic putters. You both actually did very well. You even got a hole in one at the water hole. There was another hole in one with an asterisk...I held my foot out and your ball bounced off and right into the hole. Overall, daddy beat mommy by one stroke. Seemed like a fairly even match! John, you are a little golfer in the making! You looked cute holding the small club and throwing the golf balls into the holes. You got the balls out of the holes with ease and handed them each to the right person based on color!
As a treat we then went to Sweet Frog premium yogurt! I loved that their saying was FROG: Fully Rely On God! We all love frozen yogurt! It was a tasty treat on our last day at the beach.
At the end of the day, we went out to the beach one last time to take a few family pictures and then we watched the sunset on the boardwalk in Duck. This was a great vacation, even though John ended up being sick for the second half. We still had some great family moments!
Love you,
Mommy
