Day 2 of our vacation brought some summer fun! We spent the morning on the beach. John, you weren't as scared this morning as you were last night, but you didn't want to stand on the sand. After the tent was up though (Jeff needed to borrow pliers from the maintenance man because the stake on our new tent didn't work so well), You pulled up a chair and played in the sand. At first you were quite timid, but as long as you didn't tip over (happened three times I think), you liked playing. By the end of the morning, you were sifting sand through your fingers, putting sand in your hair, and piling sand on the towel in front of you!
Addie, you were still quite the digger! We built sand castles, covered feet in the sand, and just played all morning. You were covered head to toe in sand! I think it was in places that don't see the light of day.

One of the cute things so far on vacation are the bunk beds in the alcove! Addie, you laid claim to the bottom one at first site. You have made it into you little bed, and love getting all of you princesses, the fish pillows that were here, and your blankets just so. Sleeping in the alcove will be a fun memory of this trip. I am glad that you found a fun place. This gives John his own room, which probably lets all of us sleep better!
